Start the way you estimate
Build from company codebooks, add bid items and activities by hand, or import from Excel. Combine those methods as the estimate develops.

Load an activity from your codebook or build it for this job. Set quantity, unit, production, duration, shift, and crew; then work through labor, equipment, materials, and trucking.

What to knowYou supply the estimating assumptions. The example is work in progress, not a completed or recommended bid.

Compare the unit prices behind each quote
Choose a shared scope, then compare vendors against the same activities, quantities, and units. See unit prices, extended amounts, and quote totals together before deciding what to carry.
Look forTree removal: 6 EA at $250 or $500 per EA. Asphalt removal: 500 SY at $3 or $2.50 per SY. The extensions roll into each vendor’s total.
What to knowThe current quote system supports itemized unit prices and lump sums. Shortlisting a vendor is separate from applying its quote to the estimate.

Use Cost Review to examine the cost mix, bid items, activities, and resources. Compare unit costs and totals, then return to the estimate to work through the numbers.

What to knowThis is the current Cost Review workspace. Zero-cost work is identified here so your team can investigate it.

Build the price around the cost
Set markup or margin, escalation, contingency, optional bond, and gross receipts tax. Then use Bid Leveling to adjust final amounts, protect selected prices, and preview distribution and rounding.
Look forThe Bid Recap sits beside separate pricing controls. Calculated pricing and the final bid remain visible.
What to knowLeveling changes the selling price while preserving the direct-cost buildup. Check the final schedule before submission.

Save estimate options for different approaches or scopes. Compare saved options and open one to continue editing; the current work is saved first.
Look forSaved options have calculated and submitted totals, plus Open to edit and Compare controls.
What to knowAn option is an editable working alternative. Select the version you intend to use when preparing a proposal.

Prepare the proposal from your chosen option
Choose a saved estimate option and a proposal preset, then prepare the proposal for your team to review. Existing proposal drafts stay linked to the option they quote.
Look forQuote from selects the saved option. The proposal list shows its status and source version, with PDF access.
What to knowYour company reviews the proposal and submits the bid. The screen shown is a draft workflow, not a submitted customer bid.
